Autograph University Interview: Talib Kweli
Since I began collecting in person autographs in 2006, I’ve interacted with hundreds of celebrities across sports, film and music. I respect them all.
I am a fan of many. I admire a few.
Talib Kweli is one of those few.
Regarded as one of hip-hop’s great talents and a man whose music I’ve had on rotation for a decade, it was a thrill to finally meet him. In Boston for a show at the Paradise Rock Club, I caught up with Talib at a Newbury Comics autograph signing where he was meeting and greeting fans in support of his latest release, Gutter Rainbows.
While waiting for his taxi to return with a forgotten phone, Talib took a few minutes to talk autographs with me. I appreciated his sincerity and candor and I thank him for being so generous with his time.

Nice interview Matt – really interesting to hear it from his perspective.
Thanks for checking it out, Luke.
Great interview. Seemed like a real dude and had some great thoughts. Good job!
Thanks Jordan!
Excellent. I met him in Chicago before he went solo. He was walking amongst the crowd and took a minute out to talk. I didn’t ask him for his autograph, but wish I did in retrospect. I have Common, The Roots, even Tribe Called Quest, but not Kweli yet… Keep up the great work!!!
