    I get most of my hi-res images from various websites connected to Google. After saving them to my external hard drive, I often upload copies of them to an online gallery for backup purposes.

    This chart is extremely helpful! I print my own photos using my HP Photosmart B8550 and while it can be costly with the price of ink and paper, the convenience of printing at will is huge!
    Finding online pix can be daunting (especially for lesser known golfers or celebs), but using this chart will help to know if my resolution is high enough

    hi matt;
    i’m tryin to find some photos of -bobby doerr- I stopped doing business w/ PHOTOfile because they changed their product W/ out telling me or their customers. they only have a matte finish which i try 2 stay awway from! i’ve heard their -wholesale- customers can get the option of having -gloss- on their photos.
    i don’t think i want a -metallic- finish w/ doerr because it may smudge-do u have any thoughts on him usin a metallic finish? is that why u said to stay away from old-time players on metallic? I’m new to adorama, so i really don’t know how to print my own photos
    ideally, i’d like to get a photo w/ a lustre surface for doerr.
    any help would b great!

    Hi, how big would you consider too big for a photograph to be sent in the mail? I have an 8×12 photo but I think it’s too big. Any advice you may have, I will appreciate a lot. Thank you

    • Matt Raymond says:

      An 8×10 definitely isn’t too big so I think an 8×12 is in the acceptable range, as long as it’s simple for the signer to return in your SASE. I think an 11×14 increases the risk of possible damage in the mail – but on the other hand, it sure will stand out in the mailbag.

    What about t places such as wal mart giving you grief about copyright issues from images found on Google… What would a person say to be allowed to print them to fm?

    I am looking at getting some pictures of my favorite actors/actresses. For example, I enjoyed the Rogue One movie. So I want to find a picture of Jyn Erso and send it to Felicity Jones and have her sign it. But I don’t want to infringe copyright. What pictures can I use for stuff like that? How would you find pictures of celebrities that I would be able to print or use?

    What is a good alternative to Adorama? After a year of giving them my money they’ve decided the order I tried to buy last night was against their copyright rules. Um, well, so were all the other orders I placed over the past year…. I’ve been using Google Images to find pics of baseball players and stills from movies and TV shows for TTM.

    What’s the best to get photo’s printed without violating the copyright? I just want photos that can be autographed for my personal collection. I don’t want to sale them.

    I am an amateur photographer and a longtime Red Sox fan. I have taken some terrific pictures, both at Fenway and Spring training which I would love to have autographed. Should I just send the pictures to the players and hope for the best? What would you suggest is the best way to get a picture autographed?

  10. Hi! My son is an entertainer – performing at college basketball games and baseball games. Little kids are always asking for his autograph. You chart was great with the resolution – thanks. After we have the photo we want (with a plain background – great idea), then where can I get many printed without breaking the bank? And if you want a good laugh, go on his website. http://www.amazingtyler.com Thanks, Karen

  11. There is a huge Comic Con coming to our town and my husband and I would like to go. It’s good to know that when it comes to getting autographs that there are ways we can go about getting photos for the celebrities to sign. I am glad that you mentioned that we need to get ones that have a simple background so that the signature will be clearly seen.
